In this video I walk you through 4 simple steps to rebooting your makeup, skincare, beauty products for 2024. Plus the lowdown on expiry dates (and yes, you will need to purge for your health's sake!)
But it's more than clearing out what’s old and no longer making you feel fabulous, it’s about decluttering your mind, giving you fewer decisions and more clarity every day. And who doesn't want that?

4 SIMPLE STEPS TO DECLUTTER YOUR MAKEUP, SKINCARE AND BEAUTY COLLECTION
STEP 1. Clean your brushes
I always use Makeup Weapons Brush Cleaner for this.
STEP 2 THROW OUT OLD MASCARA
Any mascara that is more than 3 months old, needs to go straight into the bin. Yes, immediately into the trash. Mascara is a hot bed for bacteria.
STEP 3 A MAKEUP BAG AUDIT

You can do this for all your makeup skincare, and personal care products. Yes, you'll make a big old mess, but trust the process, the outcome will be a capsule collection of go to products that you LOVE.
1. GET EVERYTHING OUT
2. SORT ALL YOUR PRODUCTS INTO 4 PILES
Pile Number 1 Products you love and wear all the time Pile Number 2 Products you hate and never wear
Pile Number 3 I like it, but I've no clue how to use it
Pile Number 4 Anything you've never worn, never wear, and is OLD.
3. PILES 2 & 4 HEAD TO THE BIN
Pile Number 2 and 4 are heading straight for the Bin. At a minimum push them aside and see if you can live without them for a while. After a month, if you've not touched that pile, throw it away.
3. SORT PILES PILE 1 & 3 FURTHER
We are sorting further. We are keeping products that make us feel good and really like you up! Ask yourself:
Does this colour suit me?
Do I love this product on me?
Do I wear it and say "yes, I feel great in this". Keep it. If you don't, chuck it.
Cull multiples of the same shade (for example if you've 5 lipsticks of the same shade? Keep 2, throw the rest)
Does this product fit with my current Chapter of my life? Is it still me? Is it relevant to the Chapter of life I'm in now? Makeup is an extension of who you are. If it doesn't fit, pop it aside, in a little bag for special occasions or fancy dress.
STEP 4 FIND A NEW MAKEUP BAG THAT BRINGS JOY

COSMETIC EXPIRY DATES
Cosmetics trap bacteria. And yes they do have expiry dates. So for optimal skin health, you do need to stay on top of this as best you can.
