HI, I'M AMANDA
I'm an experienced professional Makeup Artist, I'm an award-winning over 40's expert, 2020 Makeup VLogger of the Year, 2020 Australian Makeup Artist of the Year Finalist, 2018/2019 Queensland Makeup Artist of the Year and Finalist Makeup Educator of the Year 2019/2020, 2019 Gold Coast Woman of the Year Finalist. I'm on a mission to help women over 40 feel damn fabulous about themselves using a little genuine insider beauty know-how and a big pile of beauty tips and makeup tricks.
My beauty blog Secrets from a Beauty Insider was created for busy superwomen like you, who just aren't ready to embrace mid-life. Heck no. I'm a 51-year-old loving mother of two little scoundrels William and Charlie. Life is wild, woolly and super full. Yes, occasionally I forget to pack a school lunch, or pack the right library bag and send them out the door without brushing their teeth. I'm not perfect, I'm just trying to keep it all together, a lot like you.
I wear magic pants and sensible (but sparkly) shoes - just love a sequin, floaty frock and a comfortable sneaker. I practice yoga, occasionally meditate and enjoy a glass of rose in an attempt to keep things real and maintain some form of sanity amongst the chaos. Surrounded by makeup and beauty products is totally my happy place.
In 2003 I worked as a first makeup assistant on a Jet music video in Sydney and have never looked back. Over the last 21 years, I've collaborated with some of Sydney's best creatives and high profile celebrities like Noni Hazlehurst, Sophie Monk, Delta Goodrem, Collette Dinnigan, Jackie O, Miranda Kerr, Julia Gillard and now it's your turn. Working with you, watching you light up is what makes my heart sing.
