A look for when you SHOULD BE THERE ALREADY!
Confession. I’m notoriously late 😬. Always flying by the seat of my pants, 95% of the time! Unsurprisingly, I’m a big fan of a car makeup quickie.
And so, in this blog, I thought I'd take you through a simple, fun makeup look that suits mature skin and that you can do anywhere - car, train, work bathroom - you name it. It's a look that pops and is perfect for the lady that is (forever?) running late.
I originally threw on this look in in my car, using some of my faves from the fabulous Australian-owned and made cosmetics from Runway Room. Created by a pro-artist, they are a high quality, clean PFA-free makeup brand with some FAB and vibrant colours.
Create A maximum impact looK, in 5 steps
STEP 1. Apply Foundation
Now on the fly, this is a quick, light application. If you have your brush, use that, if not - fingers will do the job today!
I wear a mix of Face Base B and C depending on my fake tan efforts and the season (in winter I go a shade lighter). STEP 2. Apply Blush to Eye Lids and Cheeks
Yup, I said apply blush to your eyes! It's all the rage (honest). Because blushes are often beautiful vibrant pinks and using them as an eye shadow is a really easy way to add a fun pop of colour to those gorgeous eyes of yours. And it's a more modern take on your traditional "safe" shades like taupe and brown. Give it a go!
And can we all just say a hell-yeah for the (bestselling) Peach Punch Mineral Stick?! It is a stunning as a blush and eyeshadow combo don't you think?
STEP 3. Apply EYe LINER - in WHITE
Now, you don't have to do this step, but I highly recommend it, because it takes seconds and will magically brighten up your eyes. Great for when you're struggling with a lack of sleep (erm yes) or have red sensitive eyes (argh). Just run a white eye liner along you lower lash line and marvel at your brighter, more defined look.
STEP 4. Apply MASCARA
Apply mascara to your lashes to finish off those beautiful peepers. One layer will do, if your running late, but I normally recommend at least two.
STEP 5. ADD A BRIGHT LIPSTICK
Finally, apply your fave bright lipstick to complete this maximum impact, minimum effort look. I used the lippy shade Entrepreneur She’s a glorious, full coverage orangey shade that packs a punch. Try it. I then popped on a bit of lipgloss for extra oomph, but you can skip this step if you don't have time.
And if you're scared of bright lipstick because of the dreaded lipstick bleed, fear not. Just apply a lippy-loving mature ladies best friend - the Invisible Lip Definer Pencil first. Many of my ladies have told me this product has been an absolute game changer, helping them to feel confident wearing fun, bright lipsticks again.
There you go. Looking fabulous. Now RUN - you might still make it on time!
